Using 3D Analyzer to play games without graphic Card

I ran Devil May Cry 3 using 3D analyzer“Graphics card must have pixel shader ability of 1.1 or greater for program to run.”I ran Devil May Cry 3 using 3D analyzer

or

The brand new game you just bought launches, but gives you a black screen and nothing else ? Or maybe you can hear some sounds but no video ?

have this ever happened to You ? Ah Well If Yes,then you are stuck like me (period) ,just like you I too don't have a proper graphics solution (read:onboard graphics) or if you do have, you are having a primitive card. Well, here comes our savior from Tommti systems - The 3D Analyzer Tool. 3D analyzer was created and refined to overcome limitations posed by modern 3D Games and other Applications on several current mainstream 3D Cards.

Using 3D Analyzer Run Next gen games without graphic Card

Using 3D Analyzer Run Next gen games without graphic Card
3D Analyzer sort of "Tricks" your system into thinking it has a Nvidia, or even ATI graphics card! Of course, your games and applications will run in the mode they usually will (with the default graphics and such). If you have an Intel like me, you can now play games like "Devil May Cry 3", “The Witcher”, “Resident Evil 4” and or any new gen games which earlier demanded of graphics card.I played my Favorites using it and I m thoroughly satisfied with this tool. You can fiddle with various options to mess with it,and get different games to work with.

Re4 running on 3D analyser on my PC

I played “Prince Of Persia-Sands of Time” which earlier never ran on my PC,and thrashed some demons in “Devil may Cry 3”,killed ganados in RE4 and even ran Hitman Blood and money with it. In all forms, I m thoroughly satisfied with it and recommended it to you,If you are low on money like me (sarcasm again..).

So..you can download it from here – 3DANALYZER

Facebook under pressure over privacy

Facebook faces regulatory scrutiny in Ireland, site of its European headquarters, over its handling of personal information, the Financial Times reported on Friday. The newspaper said the Irish data protection commissioner is to conduct a privacy audit of Facebook's activities outside the United States and Canada after complaints by European and U.S privacy campaigning groups to the Irish commissioner and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. The groups raised concerns over Facebook's "frictionless sharing" of reading, listening and viewing activity as well as the use of cookies to track users' browsing.

The FT reported that Gary Davis, Irish deputy data protection commissioner, said his office would conduct a detailed audit of the group's activities outside the United States and Canada next month. "This audit will examine the subject matter of the complaint but also will be more extensive and will seek to examine Facebook's compliance more generally with Irish data protection law." Facebook's European headquarters are in Dublin, which makes its operations outside the United States and Canada subject to Irish and European data protection legislation. 10 Basic Security Tips: improve your computer’s security

Protections 1024x640 10 Basic Security Tips: improve your computer’s securityProtecting your PC from attacks and malware… how many times we’ve talked about this? And although we and many sites recommend and advise on computer security, people continue to fall victim of digital infections. Why? Because many of them believe that installing an antivirus is enough to feel safe. Well, that’s not entirely true: security programs are important but there are some basic things you should keep in mind to avoid undesired intrusions. Here are some of them which you definitely have to learn to enforce your internet privacy.

1 – The importance of passwords

Take a time to think about all the services and files you protect with passwords: much of our most precious data (such as e-mail and bank accounts and social networks’ profiles) are guarded by combinations of letters and numbers. That’ why is essential to have a solid policy about passwords.
There are certain things regarding this aspect that you must avoid. First of all, don’t use the same password for all your services: if one of your accounts is compromised, the rest fall with it. Secondly, using personal information (names, birth dates, favorite band, etc.) isn’t recommended. People interested in hacking your accounts will try several combinations of these data.
A good advice is to create strong passwords that contain at least 8 characters and in which you use letters, numbers and symbols (This refers to internet security). So I recommend you to use  this password generator often

2 – Protection is mandatory when going online

Before accessing the Internet for the first time with your brand new computer, make sure you have security tool installed. Surfing the Web without this kind of programs is like going out naked. There are several alternatives for protecting your PC, from antivirus and anti-malware tools to powerful firewalls. Although many of these options are paid there others that are completely free, including utilities that are built in the operating system (such as Windows Defender).

3 – Shield your networks and devices

Many people use wireless connections such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to transfer their data from their mobile devices. It’s obvious that this type of connections needs a special kind of protection. Wi-Fi networks must be secured with a password since open network are easily accessible for all the people near it. This evidently facilitates the information theft.
Bluetooth connections are different, though. In these, the best advice is to disable the Bluetooth function until you need it. Once this happens, enable it, do all the tasks you have to do with it and disable it once again. In this way, your device won’t be accessible to occasional intruders that discover your open Bluetooth.

4 – Backup everything, all the time

There isn’t a method that can protect you 100% of the times. Infections happen even to the most careful ones so it’s very important to have security copies of all the important information you store in your devices. By backing all of your precious data up, you’ll rest assured that you’ll be protected in case anything happens, from a virus attack to the complete destruction of your PC.  Take a look at these free backing up software

5 – Update your software periodically

No software is free from bugs. That’s why companies continue to release patches and packages to correct them, not only to avoid functionality issues but to cover potential security holes as well. But legitimate programs aren’t the only ones that keep updating: malware is evolving constantly, looking for new ways to spread and infect more computers. That’s why keeping your antivirus updated isn’t enough to stop them. Viruses use any bug in any application to spread throughout the PCs so it’s essential that you update all of the programs you’ve installed (that, of course, includes the operating system) to prevent infections from finding their way into your system.

6 – The Web is full with deceitful people

Internet is filled with malicious sites and services of dubious purposes that seek to obtain financial profit by tricking internauts into sending them information or money. Many draws, raffles and offers you can find on the Web were designed to gain access to personal sensitive information.
Most of these threats are spread through e-mails that promise to reward you with millions of dollars or that claim that you have been selected from thousands of users to collect a prize. Although it might seem silly, many people were already caught by these lies, so the best advice is to check all the links and e-mails before responding to them: if they look suspicious or they are too good to be true, they are surely a scam that you have to dismiss.

7 – Protect yourself while social networking

We’ve already discuss about the things you should and shouldn’t share while using social networks. I encourage you to review that post but I also want to remind you the basics regarding this aspect: learn how to use the privacy tools provided by each website to your advantage, don’t add strangers to your contacts, study carefully each app before using it and don’t post personal information that may be used against you.

8 – Piracy can give you troubles

Apart from the legal and ethic standpoints, using pirated software can compromise your computer’s security. The people in charge of pirating applications have to deal with the underlying code to avoid the trial or demo restrictions and, while they’re at it, they put their own malicious code for personal gain.
Extra features that you don’t notice can be added to gather personal information on each computer they are installed but that’s not all. It may be the case that pirated software don’t have malicious code in it. However, as they aren’t official products, you won’t be able to update them to fix bugs, breaking one of the basic premises we are describing here.

9 – Look after the use of your computer

If you share your computer with others (family, friends, etc) it’s very important that they are all aware of these basic premises as well. Teach them and let them teach you what they know and encourage safe practices while using the PC. Additionally, parents should be very careful with which their kids are consuming online since they can be accessing inappropriate contents for their age or they can be contacting unknown people through the Web.

10 – Learn from your mistakes

This obvious premise is one of the most important. As I’ve said earlier, anybody can be victim of a cyberattack. If you’re affected by one, try to remove the threat and after that review your steps to understand where the infection came from. Did you access a suspicious website? Which was the last application you used? Ask yourself these and other questions to get to the bottom of the issue and learn from your mistakes.
As I’ve always said, the most important protective measure you can take is to use your common sense. All of the ideas described in this post follow that general knowledge and they were gathered from personal experiences while using the Web. They won’t assure you 100% protection but the chances you’ll get infected will be drastically reduced.

5 Security tools that you must have in your PC

computer lock PC Security: 5 tools that you must have in your PC [PC Security 2011]Internet security is an issue that affects every Windows user to the same degree. In different occasions, in order to educate our readers, we have talked about different PC security tips and ways to protect our personal information on Facebook.
On this occasion, I have come up with a list of essential PC security software that you must have with your Windows. Each tool above has a particular function, which is why you should download them all and execute them every time you start the system. Therefore, you only have to enjoy a clean and safe Internet navigation.

Basic PC Security Tools:

Avast Free Antivirus (Home Edition)

We have already discussed about different free antivirus alternatives, and in my opinion, they are all good despite being free. However, I still prefer the powerful Avast rather than any other antivirus software (either paid or free) because of two main reasons: It is very light (which allows the use of thePC during the scan) and it is extremely impermeable. If you want it for personal use, there is no need to pay for brands like Norton or McAfee. On the contrary, the free alternatives are much better for regular users since they do not consume so many resources as the “big antiviruses”.
Nevertheless, if Avast is not to your like, you can try AVG Free antivirus or Trojan Remover, two very simple but highly effective tools.

Kaspersky Internet Security

Nowadays, having an antivirus that protects your hard disc is not enough. Millions of Trojans, virus and other types of malware circulate through the Internet without being detected by antivirus software and they can provoke sever damages to your PC. As for this aspect, Kaspersky Internet Security does not miss anything! Thus, you will be able to surf confidently, though you should always be alert.

Spybot Search & Destroy

Besides the virus threat, there is malicious software called “spyware” that attack your computer in order to control all your movements.
Initially, it may look like a game, but if we think it over we realize this little invader can reveal to unknown people our access passwords to social networks, e-mail and banking accounts! Also, it can reveal other personal and job information.
In order to avoid this, I suggest that you run daily scans in your computer with Spybot Search & Destroy, which will immediately remove any spyware that it detects in your computer.
Here are other two great alternatives Malware Removal Tool y Doctor Spyware Cleaner

KeyLogger and HomeGuard Activity Monitor

Finally, in order to complete your “PC security kit” with control tools, I recommend that you download KeyLogger and HomeGuard Activity Monitor. The former allows you to have complete control over who access your computer, when and what they do with it. The latter is an excellent parental control tool that allows you to set filters on those websites you want to block their access.
Who knows? Sometimes, a sister or mother without any knowledge about computing can be more dangerous than the best Trojan in the world (lol).

Well, now you know what you need to fully protect your PC. Share this note with your friends and help us to maintain a clean and safe web, free from any digital crime.

iPhone 5

With Apple now on the record about an October 4 iPhone event, analysts are reaffirming their prognostications about the phone's hardware--and adding an item or two to a growing list of specifications.

Chris Whitmore, Deutsche Bank Equity Research, said in a research note Monday that he expects an iPhone 5 with aluminum unibody construction, better camera, and a slightly larger screen size. No big surprise there.

Ashok Kumar, an analyst at Rodman & Renshaw, said on Tuesday he expects better graphics silicon--not unlike the big performance increase that Apple boasted about for the iPad 2.

Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster probably had the most intriguing speculation this this week, saying today he expects speech-based features for the iPhone.

So, without further ado, here are the iPhone 5 upgrades expected:
  • More memory: Possibly 1GB of memory, twice the amount in the iPhone 4.
  • Higher-resolution camera: likely 8-megapixel versus current 5MP.
  • Near-Field Communication (NFC): for virtual wallets. Possible but not certain.
  • Voice control: speculation says new tech will allow voice navigation.
  • Improved graphics: similar to Imagination's PowerVR SGX543 graphics silicon used in the iPad 2.
  • Dual-core Apple A5 chip: a virtual certainty that the iPhone 5 will get a boost in chip performance.
  • iOS 5: new iOS with iMessage, tabbed browsing and lots more.
  • 3G: Qualcomm chipset that will allow connection to both CDMA and GSM networks.

But Apple will need to pick up the pace on new phone introductions next year, according to Rodman & Renshaw's Kumar. "The last iPhone came out 16 months ago. Meanwhile rivals are updating products every three to four months," he said.

Conspicuously absent from the list of iPhone 5 specs is 4G. But Kumar says that 4G on Apple devices won't come any earlier than 2012.

Facebook: We do track logged-out users, but trust us

here are those for whom Facebook is a way of life.
They commit themselves to it because it's automatic and just so self-empowering.
Many would not have been concerned when, this weekend, a hacker called Nik Cubrilovic offered the interesting information that Facebook seemed to be sucking in data from even those users who have actually logged out.
Indeed, Cubrilovic claimed that even if you log out, Facebook "still knows and can track every page you visit," as its cookies burrow away in your laptop's entrails, consumed by the compulsion to share.
You might think Facebook immediately issued denials at this seemingly pickpocketish process. You might think that flies will only feast on foie gras.
For the company confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that, yes, indeed, Cubrilovic's information was accurate.
But, don't worry, Facebook reportedly said, trust us.

Trust me. I like little dogs.
(Credit: Screenshot: Chris Matyszczyk/CNET)
It's true that the minute you view a "Like" button--any "Like" button--Facebook's cookies will send data back to Social Networking Central.
But, as Arturo Bejar, a Facebook director of engineering, told the Journal: "The onus is on us is to take all the data and scrub it."
The people at Facebook are very, very busy people. I've seen little videos showing how hard they work, as they skateboard up and down their offices. How can we possibly be sure that they are scrubbing our data? How can we possibly be sure that they don't, just sometimes, take a little peek? This surely matters to us--or at least those of us who still believe in the overarching power of truth, love, and honesty.
Behar insisted: "What really matters is what we say as a company and back it up."
I am sure that every time someone has tried to offer you life insurance, auto insurance, a mutual fund, or a piece of cheese 10 days past its sell-by date, you have heard them say "trust me" and gone right along.
I am equally sure that you believe the Facebook spokesperson who told the Journal that this data is never used to target ads. Just as I am sure you believe Behar that this monster cookie activity merely exists in order to keep spam and phishing attacks away and to make it easier for you to log in to Facebook without oodles of authentication.
It's just that, well, many people trusted Google until the company confessed to a tiny whoopsie when it admitted that its Street View cars had accidentally recorded private Wi-Fi data.
And many people trusted Facebook until, oh, where would you "Like" me to start?
Trust us, say the engineers. But some real human beings wonder: "What are they actually engineering?"

Memory comes to the fore in Firefox 7

Performance and improved memory use were the goals of Firefox 7, which arrived on schedule today from Mozilla. Firefox 7 is available to download for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android.
The new Telemetry feature asks you to opt in before it will collect your data.
(Credit: Mozilla)
The wide-release version of Firefox 7 brings changes to the majority of Firefox users that the beta and Aurora channels have been playing with for some time. These include claims of significant gains in reducing memory use, "often 20 percent to 30 percent less, and sometimes as much as 50 percent less," a company representative wrote in a blog post based on work by Firefox developer Nicholas Nethercote.
These performance gains are the first public results of an internal Mozilla project called MemShrink, which, as the name implies, is about reducing the browser's system impact. Mozilla cited several specific areas of improvement in Firefox 7, including when the browser is kept open for long periods of time, when multiple tabs are open at once, and when the browser is used concurrently with other programs that also use a lot of memory. The company also noted that MemShrink was successful in part because of the rapid-release cycle that a vocal minority of Firefox users have been criticizing.
The spotlight on performance is something that Mozilla clearly plans to keep lit. When you install Firefox 7, you'll be prompted to opt in to a new anonymous-reporting measure that the company is calling Telemetry. Not unlike security suites that use your data anonymously to improve threat detection rates, Mozilla plans to crowd-source its performance data to learn more about how the browser performs in real-world situations.
Unlike the security suites, Telemetry is an opt-in reporting system, so Mozilla won't be collecting data without permission. Lead privacy engineer Sid Stamm addresses security concerns in a blog post, but the short version is that Mozilla is far more open about the data it collects--and why it collects that data--than competitors such as Apple, Google, and Microsoft. Currently, Telemetry looks at four categories: memory usage, CPU core count, cycle collection times, and startup speed. Curious readers can install the about:telemetry add-on to see the personal statistics Firefox is gathering.
If you've enabled Telemetry and would like to disable it, you can go to Options, Advanced, and uncheck the Submit Performance Data box at the bottom of the General tab.

Other changes in Firefox 7 for desktops include a new version of hardware-accelerated Canvas for faster HTML5 games and animations, and improvements for Web developers. These include support for the W3C navigation timing API, which allows developers to measure page load time and site navigation against factors like bandwidth, and a new set of Firefox tools for developers.
Firefox 7 for Android includes a laundry list of changes, including the ability to select text in a Web page for copying and pasting. Long-tap on a site, and the Android-style drag handles will appear. There's a new Quit feature under Preferences/More to force an exit from the browser, the WebSocket API now works on Firefox for mobile devices, and image rendering has been improved on Tegra-powered tablets and phones. The browser also now auto-detects your system default language if it's supported, and a new Preferences option enables you to change the language displayed in the browser on-demand.
Full release notes for Firefox for desktops are here, while Firefox for Android release notes can be read here.

Nokia C2-00
MRP: 2970
Street Price:  Rs 2700 (Flipkart.com; Letsbuy.com; Saholic.com)

After losing a big chunk of the market to our Chinese brothers, Nokia has finally come up with a proper dual-SIM, dual-standby device. In the current scenario, the phone not only has to fight off nameless Chinese rivals, but also emerging Indian brands such as Micromax, Spice, and MAXX Mobile. Past glory won't help Nokia sell its handsets any more. On the other hand though, the company still has the advantage of its reputation, earned for its good build quality. This low-cost gadget is targeted at folks who prefer sturdy phones.

Design And Build Quality
The retail box contains a phone, charger, and earphones - too bad there is no memory card. The phone has a classic Nokia-esque look, and its design is reminiscent of the good old times. The device has a modest design scheme, comparable to yesteryear's feature phones. Although you won't love it for its aesthetic appeal, no one will dislike it either.
The mobile is made of good quality plastic and looks like it can withstand a lot of unintentional drops. The keypad shares its design with the N79 to some extent - it offers good tactile feedback and is comfortable to type on. Moreover, the D-pad makes navigation easy.

The device measures 4.3" (l) x 1.8" (w) x 0.6" (d) and weighs 74 grammes. Its 1.8" display has pixel dimensions of 128x160, and is bright enough to be perfectly legible under normal conditions. However, readability reduces drastically in direct sunlight. Additionally, the viewing angles are very limited. Although a weak point, the display might actually be appreciated by people who buy privacy screen guards.

The phone sports a VGA camera, charger plug, micro-USB port, 3.5 mm jack, and more importantly, an external SIM card slot. Due to this, the memory card lies under the battery cover, but is still hot-swappable.
Overall, the design and build quality is impressive, considering the price tag. It's a low-end phone that won't make you look like a rickshawwala. Samsung too has a few decent-looking phones at this price range, but most of them sport a rubbery keypad that tends to swell after a few months of use.

UI And Features

Based on the Series 40 6th edition, the device's interface is way better than its competitors. The UI features an Active Standby earlier only found on Symbian Series 60 handsets. It gives you quick access to the music player, Bluetooth, browser, etc right from the home screen. The latter, as well as the Menu view, are customizable. You are also free to set a theme of your choice. The icons look polished as compared to most low-end phones, and are very self-explanatory. All in all, the phone is extremely easy to get used to, and will never require you to read the manual.

The C2-00 is a dual-SIM device, and the first to sport an external SIM card slot. As expected, this is hot-swappable - a feature that comes in handy if you have more than 2 SIM cards. A long press of  the [*] key brings up an option to set the preferred SIM for calling. You can also choose the Ask every time option. The network reception is superb and there were no call drops throughout the testing process. The voice at the other end was loud and clear, but the phone leaked sound through its speaker at the back. This means that you can hear the voice from the loudspeaker even if it's deactivated.
The phone handles messaging with ease; it takes care of SMS, MMS, and audio messages. What's more, it has a decent email app that supports multiple email accounts. Nokia has also provided a functional IM app and a browser. Opera Mini 4.2 has been preinstalled, but it is advisable to get the latest version (6.1 as of this writing).

Multimedia
The mobile has a decent music player that supports MP3, WMA, WAV, and AAC. It also supports a Bluetooth A2DP profile, letting it pair with stereo headsets. The sound quality through the earphones is very good and reasonably loud. The device supports a 32 GB memory card, so you can fill it to its gills with your music collection. On the downside, an equalizer is absent. Needless to say, the phone has a built-in FM radio, which sounds pretty loud with the onboard loudspeaker.

The video player supports 3GP and low-quality MP4 formats. However, the 1.8" screen makes it impossible to watch movies on this phone.

The VGA camera is included as a token feature, and as expected it performs horribly. It produces extremely grainy images - let's not even talk about the colours and contrast.

The 1020 mAh battery performs well. It's been three days from full charge and it still refuses to die. Certainly, decent battery life for a dual-SIM phone.

Verdict

Priced at Rs 2700, the Nokia C2-00 offers great build quality, decent design, and a relatively pleasant UI. A music player and email app are some of its strong points. Moreover, the hot-swappable SIM card slot is a unique feature, though it has to be said that very few will find it useful. The phone has its shortcomings, but the reasonable pricing makes it a logical purchase even if you are not looking for a dual-SIM mobile. Those seeking a gaudy design and loud colours, will be better off with the MAXX MX401.

Google to use films to push market share in India

google.jpgGoogle on Monday said it has tied up with Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan's production company Red Chillies Entertainment for promoting his coming film Ra.One.

Besides promoting Ra.On
e on YouTube, Shahrukh will be doing online video chats with fans through Google's social networking site 'Google+'.

"YouTube has already tied up with Hollywood movie distribution companies to distribute content online. Today's event here is being livecast over YouTube as well. Ra.One's London red-carpet premiere will also be livecast on YouTube," Google's Vice President Sales & Operations (India), Rajan Anandan, said.

Sony Playstation will be launching a Ra.One-based game on its gaming consoles in India shortly.

"This initiative will break new ground in digital marketing for Bollywood films and the 'Make Your Own Ra.One Promo' contest is a great example of how the channel will enhance fans' interactive experience with the movie," Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd's Head of Digital & Marketing, Shailja Gupta said.

mobile.jpg If you want an all-in-one security solution for your Android smartphone or tablet, Norton Mobile Security pretty much covers all bases. You get anti-theft protection in which you can choose to lock, remotely wipe, SIM lock or wipe after 10 incorrect password entries.

If your device is lost or stolen, you can locate, lock or wipe it remotely. Built in anti-malware protection can be scheduled to scan at a time of your choosing and offers the option to scan the attached memory card or not - scanning the card takes more time and eats up the battery.

It can also alert you against fraudulent websites when browsing the Internet, but is limited to only work with the default Android browser. The Liveupdate feature keeps the list of websites and malware definitions up to date to keep you protected from new threats.

Plus, it also comes with a call and SMS blacklist - you can add numbers from your contact list, phone log or directly input numbers to block. You can get it as a free 3-day trial from the Android Market or from www.norton.com/nms. A one-year subscription to the service costs 599.

No re-think on limit of 100 SMSes per day: TRAI

NEW DELHI: In its effort to stop the menace of unwanted communication, TRAI said that as of now, there is no plan to do away the restriction of 100 SMSes per SIM per day for all subscribers, except on special occasions like Diwali, Eid or other festivals.

"In order to curb the menace of pesky calls and messages, as of now, this (limit of hundred SMS per day per SIM) will be applicable to all users. If in future some problem arises, we will see the things," a TRAI source said

BSNL Launches 100 Mbps Internet

BSNL Launches 100 Mbps Internet Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the state-run telecom, has announced its fastest ever internet offering to the general public with speeds rated at an astounding 100 Mbps! Based on "fibre to the home" or FTTH, this service has been rolled out in Pune, and will be made available to around 100 customers in the city in the next three months. As you may know, Pune has always been the city where pilots of such projects have been launched, and it is only after a good deal of testing that they are launched elsewhere.

BSNL Pune Principal General Manager, VK Mahendra said,"A couple of connections were activated in the city in the last few months on a pilot basis. After studying its performance, the BSNL has decided to float the services on a commercial basis. The FTTH service will be provided through optical fibre cables using the 'gigabit-capable passive optical network' (GPON). This will enable high speed downloading and uploading. Hence, customers will get speed in addition to the existing broadband. The BSNL is looking at high-end customers who require high-speed internet".

BSNL has identified the locations of areas and buildings with an optical fibre network already in place in Pune, where this new service will be introduced. The telecom operator will also hold talks with city builders to make provisions to easily introduce this service in their new building projects by laying an optical fibre network right at the inception. Additionally, BSNL telephone exchanges will be upgraded to be able to provide FTTH service.

Being one of the least expensive broadband service providers with an unmatched reach and a very low downtime, BSNL claims to control around 80% share in the broadband service. Introduction of such high speed networks will no doubt increase its popularity further.

Chrome's latest 'new tab' page

The blank Web site that stares back at you when you open a new browser tab is no longer a vast field of dead white space. Google is making Chrome's 'new tab' page a robust launch pad from which you can interact with your recently visited sites, Web apps, and bookmarks. It's currently only available in Chrome 15 beta, but it'll be handed over to the majority of people in the stable version of Chrome soon enough. Here's how you can use it, and thankfully it's intuitive.
The new page splits up your Most Visited sites, Chrome Web apps, and Bookmarks into three chunks. Arrows appear on the left and right page gutters. If you don't see them, mouse over that area and the background will light up. Use them to flip through the three default categories, and conveniently, Chrome will remember the last one you looked at and return you to it when you restart the browser.
There's a clever and intuitive organizational feature included, too. You can click and drag items from any of the three pages to the bottom bar and create custom categories for keeping them organized. Double-click where the new category label is blank to name it. You can also mix and match items in a custom category, so you can have your Google Calendar Offline Web app live next to your Gmail bookmark next to your Google.com frequently visited search. To remove an item, drag it toward the bottom right corner of the page, and a trash can will appear for you to drop it into.
Combine this with the age-old but still highly useful bookmarking method of location bar stars, which will appear on your Bookmarks page, and you've got a powerful yet simple way to ensure that you're always putting the parts of the Internet you care about most right where you want them.

How To Enable Facebook Timeline Right This Second

Facebook announced Timeline, a crazy (and kind of creepy) omnibus look at everything that has ever happened in your Facebook lifespan. It’s like a story book of your life — or at least the online, documented parts.

Facebook said that Timeline would be on the way for everyone sometime in the coming weeks… which is great and all, for everyone else. You’re the type of person who reads TechCrunch, and are thus likely the type of person who likes their new and shiny things right now.

That’s okay. We can make it happen.

Fortunately, enabling Timeline a bit early isn’t too difficult — but it’s not at all straight forward, either.

You see, Facebook is enabling Timeline early for open graph developers. You, too, can be an open graph developer — even if you’re just looking to dabble.

A few things to note:
- You probably don’t want to do this unless you’re actually a developer. Expect bugs.
- Only you will see your timeline at first (unless you decide otherwise), but it will automatically go public after a few days. My timeline was automatically hard-set to go public on September 29th.
- It seems that if you login into Facebook on another machine, Timeline gets disabled automatically on all of your machines. With that said, it seems you can get back to your timeline (but ONLY after following the steps below) by navigating to http://www.facebook.com/YOURUSERNAMEHERE?sk=timeline
- You’ll need to have a “verified” account for one of the steps, which means you need a credit card or phone number attached to the account.
Here’s how to do it:

1. Log into Facebook

2. Enable developer mode, if you haven’t already. To do this, type “developer” into the Facebook search box, click the first result (it should be an app made by Facebook with a few hundred thousand users), and add the app.

3. Jump into the developer app (if Facebook doesn’t put you there automatically, it should be in your left-hand tool bar)

4. Create a new app (don’t worry — you wont actually be submitting this for anyone else to see/use). Give your shiny new app any display name and namespace you see fit. Read through and agree to the Platform Privacy agreement. This is the step you need to be verified for.

5. Ensure you’re in your new app’s main settings screen. You should see your app’s name near the top of the page

6. Look for the “Open Graph” header, and click the “Get Started using open graph” link.

Create a test action for your app, like “read” a “book”, or “eat” a “sandwich”

7. This should drop you into an action type configuration page. Change a few of the default settings (I changed the past tense of “read” to “redd” — again, only you can see this unless you try and submit your application to the public directory), and click through all three pages of settings

8. Wait 2-3 minutes

9. Go back to your Facebook homescreen. An invite to try Timeline should be waiting at the top of the page

And you’re done! We’ve seen this work quite a few times now, so it should work without a hitch for just about anyone.

Quick Look: Windows 8 Developer Preview Windows8 is finally here and there's no denying the excitement among people. It's very unlike Microsoft to publically offer builds. We've seen something happen with Windows 7, as well. The Building Windows blog is another one of those neat things that Microsoft has introduced to try and connect with its customers. The best thing to happen, however is the Windows 8 Developer Preview build that was made public. Like pretty much every interested Windows user out there, we’ll be running through this build to see what major enhancements Microsoft has made.

The story, so far...
In short, Windows Vista wasn’t too great. To many of us, it offered few additional features, demanded more resources and was more like an unfinished product. The finished product was Windows 7 and when it came, everyone rejoiced and its success is visible. Windows 7 is more used than the last major Windows OS, XP. Windows 8 has a different approach from its predecessors. For one, Windows 8 is being built to run on both desktops (and notebooks), as well as tablets, and presumably, mobile phones. These are two completely different platforms that require different kinds of interactions. Microsoft has taken the Metro interface from their Windows Phone 7 devices and has brought it to the desktop.

Installation
The installation of Windows has come a long way, from the ways of Windows 3.1, which meant inserting one floppy after another. Windows 95 was the first operating system to have been shipped on CDs and it was also available on 25 different floppies. Since then, the effort has been to make installations simpler and quicker.

The installer on the Windows 8 Developer Preview works on the same lines as Windows 7, except when you first reboot you’re asked to enter a PC name. You're then asked to choose a wireless network and proceed. The last step is to create a user name. Simple, isn't it? Like many of the other features present in Windows 8, there’s bound to be some changes made to it.

Usability
When you first login, you stare straight into the face of Microsoft’s Metro interface that’s similar to the one seen on Windows Phone 7. Users can use gestures to pan from side to side and all the apps that you have installed for the Metro user interface appear in this. By default, there are a bunch of apps that come pre-bundled with the installation. The interface operates like any Windows Phone 7 device. Click on the icon of the application you want to launch and it fires up in a jiffy.

Metro UI
The first thing you notice in the Metro UI is that there are neither window controls, nor any title bars and menus. The interface is minimal and from the apps we played around with, it makes perfect sense for media consumption apps such as feed readers, Twitter clients and some games. There is a scrollbar at the bottom that lets you pan through applications.

The Metro UI’s apps can be moved around, replaced and resized, too. Some of these apps have notifications and those can be enabled or disabled using the Control Panel

Windows desktop
Microsoft hasn’t thrown the standard Windows interface away. It’s neatly tucked into the whole operating system rather well. A widget called Desktop takes you to the standard Windows desktop. The Windows desktop hasn’t changed much as of now. It looks almost identical to Windows 7. The Start button though looks different.

Multi-tasking isn’t much different from previous Windows versions. You can’t see the taskbar in the Metro UI, but press Alt + Tab or Shift + Tab and you get the same multi-tasking and switching functionality that we’re all used to. Microsoft hasn’t isolated each user interface and its apps separately. It works across applications running on the standard Windows desktop and also the Metro interface.

Windows Explorer
Windows Explorer now sports a ribbon, the same we’ve seen on their Office suites, in recent times. The file manager now allows you to do the simple tasks, instantaneously.
Burning and sharing takes fewer clicks now

The ribbon transforms itself as you go from one location to another. For example, new folders can be created by clicking a single button when you’re in a drive. Moving and copying files to locations most used is simpler. There’s even a copy location button.
Navigating and moving files about, made easy

Sharing files, too, is simpler than before. There’s a slot in the ribbon that lets you quickly add users to your share list. The ribbon is a welcome feature for sure on Windows Explorer.
The very vibrant Weather application

The Weather app, for example allows users to add new cities. Also current weather conditions are displayed with a matching animated backdrop, and not as just fancy icons. Here too, users can pan between panes, if they have separate cities added. The animated background also changes, accordingly. The neat feature is that it does this so smoothly on rather basic hardware without really stressing the system.

One of the other apps, which are often shown in some of the demonstration videos by Microsoft is the Stock app. Although, stock information for local markets isn’t available, there’s a lot of scope for apps such as this. Your notebook or your PC becomes your dedicated console.

The Twitter app called Tweet@rama is a good example of how Microsoft is bringing in apps and features that people really want from a good operating system. A simple, but colourful user interface with the most basic, but the most used features are present.

The news feed reader app is neat. It shows up feeds and stories as blocks that when clicked on, open the entire story. It’s very clean and very well-formatted without any sign of clutter. It is apps like these that make the Metro interface shine, even on the desktop.
Tech2.com loaded on Internet Explorer 10
Tech2.com loaded on Internet Explorer 10

Windows 8 runs Internet Explorer 10 and there are in fact, two browsers at this moment. The Metro UI runs a more compact, minimalistic design browser with no menus and toolbars. Some of those features such as the tabs only appear once you right click on the interface.

Windows Store
A lot of development will happen on the Windows Store front and apps can be installed using it. Currently, the Windows Store isn’t enabled. Programs can be installed as usual on the Windows desktop.

Performance and compatibility
We ran the developer build on a Lenovo G570, a very basic notebook running Intel’s new Sandy Bridge solution. It worked fine without the need of any drivers. Wi-Fi was detected and so were the sound and display drivers. One of the neat features is the ability to go to sleep and turn back on almost as quick as a tablet would. Sleep mode comes up in no more than 4 seconds. Recovering from the sleep mode happens in 2 seconds and logging back in to the account happens in a second, once you type in the account password.

What to expect
It's still early days, but going by the progress, Windows 8 isn’t looking too bad. Sure, the Metro user and the standard Windows interface are far apart and getting to use both of them in tandem is going to be difficult. Full-flegded Windows applications running in a Metro-like interface might never happen.
Mobile interface comes to the desktop
Mobile interface comes to the desktop

Using just the Metro isn’t really practical at this point in time, since clicking on the apps in the interface using the mouse is cumbersome and gets pointless, at times. Microsoft should ideally also manufacturer input devices such as multi-touch trackpad that allows desktop users to be able to use the gestures to control their desktops.

a must have application for every system. Due to risks of rapidly evolving, high-damaging viruses, malwares and trojan horses, people are more concerned and look for better options to secure their systems from attacks. AVG Antivirus FREE Edition 2011
The most popular free antivirus of all. Actually the term ‘free antivirus’ has became synonym with AVG. With trust of millions of users worldwide, AVG is trying hard to include the advanced protections capabilities of the premium version into the free edition. Strong real-time protection makes AVG first choice when compared with other security solutions.

How to hide the Facebook ticker

Facebook ticker: A news feed inside a news feed.
(Credit: Matt Elliott/CNET)
If you have checked Facebook today, you have probably noticed a sidebar ticker has been added to the right-hand column of the newly redesigned News Feed, along with complaints and snarky comments about the new News Feed and this ticker. About this ticker, Facebook says:
Ticker, on the right-hand side of your account, lets you see all your friends' activity in real-time. When you hover over an item on ticker, you can see the full story and join the conversation as it happens. Ticker updates itself as stories happen. This gives you a more complete picture of what your friends are doing, right now.
To my eye, this ticker needlessly busies the News Feed page. It's a Facebook news feed inside a Facebook news feed. It reminds me of the joke about there being so many Starbucks that the coffee giant started opening new Starbucks stores inside existing Starbucks stores.
Facebook doesn't allow you to close the ticker, stating:
You can't close ticker, but you can make it smaller by moving the horizontal bar between ticker and chat. Slide the bar up to hide ticker and make your chat list longer. Pull the bar down to show more of the ticker and hide chat.
Thankfully, there are quick and easy ways in both Firefox and Chrome to get rid of the ticker.
In Chrome, simply install the Hide Facebook SideBar Ticker extension and the ticker will vanish.
In Firefox, you will need to install a user script. To do so, first install the Greasemonkey add-on and then install this user script. When prompted, restart Firefox and the ticker will be gone. Do note that this user script removes the entire right column of Facebook, including the ticker, event invitations, ads, sponsored stories, friends' photos, and so on.

BSNL Internet Hack: Increase BSNL Broadband Speed!

BSNL Internet is most famous Internet Broadband connection service in India. Its only due to its ready availability and somewhat cost-effectiveness. But, even though, many BSNL Broadband and BSNL Cellone Dataone users are frustated with BSNL Internet and BSNL broadband connection. Even I am a BSNL Broadband user and so I thought of informing you 6 hacks to increase BSNL broadband connection speed.

Increase BSNL Broadband connection speed:

To increase BSNL broadband speed, just follow these 6 BSNL hacks:

1. Change BSNL DNS servers:

The main reason for slow BSNL Broadband connection speed is slow BSNL DNS servers. So, we can increase BSNL Broadband connection speed by changing default BSNL DNS servers to fast BSNL DNS servers, which can help us to increase BSNL broadband connection speed.

2. Use Adblock Plus:

The best way to increase BSNL Broadband connection speed is to block flash and other unwanted ad material on webpage, so that page loads faster, thus make BSNL Broadband apparently fast. AdBlockPlus is a firefox addon used to block flash content of page, thus helping you to increase BSNL Broadband connection speed.

3. Using TCPOptimizer:

Reliance Tablet For Masses

Whether it lasts or not, tablet craze is real. To realize it, you just need to see the number of tablets - especially those costing less than Rs 15,000 - that have been launched in India in the last few weeks. One of these - Reliance's Tab 3G - seems most versatile. It ticks almost all the right boxes as far as specifications go. But can it offer a compelling tablet experience on the budget? Let's find out. Light, feather light As it has been the norm with these budget tablets from Indian companies, Tab 3G too is a rebranded tablet manufactured by a Chinese vendor. To be specific, the world knows Tab 3G as ZTE V9C. Not that it is of any significance or makes any difference to the user experience. But we thought that you will like know it. Tab 3G has the classic 7-inch tablet design. It's a minimalist, gets-the-job-done shape and size. The back cover is all plastic with a faux aluminum look. The front is all capacitive screen with black bezel and three - Home, Options, and Back - touch-sensitive buttons. The tablet looks neat and even though a slightly sturdier build would have been better, the quality of construction is good for its price. Tab 3G is powered by a 800Mhz processor. There is 512 MB RAM and a 4GB SD card has been bundled with it. One thing that surprises us about Tablet 3G is its weight. It's very light, which is good. A simple design and 389 grams weight makes the tablet quite comfortable to use on the move. Better than the average Tab 3G ships with the latest version of Android, which is Gingerbread (2.3.4). This means it comes with all Android goodies like tethering, a huge number of apps and a user interface that has made Google's operating software such a big craze. We can't stress enough how important is a touchscreen in the tablet experience. On Tab 3G, fortunately, Reliance has got it almost right. The resolution of 480x800 is a tad low but otherwise the screen is good for its price. More importantly, it's a capacitive screen with decent touch response. It's not as buttery smooth as what is found on expensive tablets but works without much fuss. Somewhat better viewing angles - the colours look faded if screen not held at the right angle - would have made the touch screen on Tab 3G truly exceptional for it price. Despite 800Mhz processor, the performance doesn't suffer much. There is hint of lag in animations when you open apps or scroll through gallery, but it's not a deal breaker. Tab 3G can be used to make calls as well send messages. Though we don't see many people using this feature, the option is always there to pair a Bluetooth headset with the tablet and use it for calls. Performance of cameras is disappointing but then this is how it is with every other tablet currently. Tab 3G comes with a 3400 mAh battery. In real life, this translates to all-day computing when the used for accessing mails and Twitter feed etc, occasional web browsing and little bit of gaming. Worth the money Reliance Tab is not perfect. But then no tablet - not even iPad - is.
